700 Free 16x16 Pixel Icons - Creative Commons License
I'm currently in the process of converting my very old and tired website to a Google Sites website, and have been searching for small icons I could use to represent Adobe Acrobat files, Word files, etc. Almost by accident, I came across a set of 700 (!) nice looking 16x16 icons which are perfect for my application.
I was only going to tweet about it, but I found I wanted to say more than 140 characters would allow... :)
The icons are available at http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/silk/, and are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license, meaning they are totally free to use or modify as long as you attribute the source of the icons to the creator.
To use the icons in your own projects, simply download and extract the zip file (see the website) to your local computer. Luckily for us, the creator included an html file which allows you to view all the icons in your web browser, making finding the icon you're looking for quite easy.
Here are some examples, taken from the website:
p.s. This was my first blog entry created with ScribeFire. If this blog post gets uploaded correctly (I'm worried about the graphics), I'm wondering why I didn't start using this earlier!
